Back to life in the Monts d’Arrée

Cécile and Clément have farmed at the Squiriou sheepfold in the heart of the Monts d’Arrée for ten years. In July 2022, their flock of 300 organic ewes narrowly escaped the flames of the fire that had ravaged over 1700 hectares during the scorching summer.
A year later, two months late, the flock was able to return to the moors of the Parc Armoricain. Despite a very rainy summer in 2023, Cécile was only able to take half the herd, which only stayed for a fortnight due to a lack of food. A transhumance through the varied landscapes of the Monts d’Arrée, and the return of resilient vegetation that will need some time to regain its pre-fire vigor.
